a car show to help people
Morning began with the threat of rain, keeping some trailer queens at home. However, the threat turned into a sunny day and many beautiful rare cars were on display for the 13th Annual Auto Angels Benefit Car Show. Held Saturday, July 27, 2019, participants and spectators were treated to another successful show despite a brief mist during part of the sponsors’ awards parade.
There were 92 vehicles registered including motorcycles and tractor trailer truck from Paccar. Participants competed for 18 Sponsor Award Categories, and a list of the winners are listed below. The Make-n-Take activities for kids were a big hit as well as the 2nd annual “American Idle” contest. That award went to a 440 HP 1969 Black Chevelle driven by Charles Brasier. That Chevy had the mean-est, bad-est growl while idling then any other car or motorcycle entered. As in past years, a great lunch was served up on the bistro patio by Brief Encounter Cafe. Check out the photos below capturing some the event highlights.
But the real winner in all this fun was the community of people on the eastside struggling to make ends meet. The car show is Auto Angels only fundraiser in 2019 and this event raised just over $25,000. This money provides cars and services that help families & individuals to have safe, dependable vehicles for transportation.
